The Abraham Lincoln Memorial Squad is celebrating

The Abraham Lincoln Memorial Squad is celebrating their 20th Anniversary this year! We are also excited to announce this year’s “Epic Comeback event” after the pandemic…our 2023 John Whiteside Memorial Golf Outing on Wednesday, June 28th at the Inwood Golf Course in Joliet. $140 includes 18 holes of golf, coffee, donuts and a Bloody Mary Bar during registration; golf cart, gift bag, lunch on the turn and dinner at the Elks Lodge. Dinner is only $30. Cocktails at 2pm (cash bar) and dinner at 4pm.

We still have openings for a few more golfers and limited sponsorships. How about being a hole sponsor this year? We are still in need of raffle gifts (baskets, gift cards, etc.) and promotional items for our golfer gift bags.

Our mission, since September 2003, is to provide a military ceremonial burial service for honorably discharged veterans at no charge to their family. These honors consist of the traditional three-volley rifle salute, Taps sounded by a live bugler, and the folding and formal presentation of the American flag to the next of kin. Military honors are rendered Monday through Friday throughout the year regardless of weather conditions.

This is the only fundraiser held each year which helps supply the Memorial Squad with complete uniforms, supplies to clean & maintain our M1 Garand rifles, and other operating costs. It is our privilege to fulfill every veteran’s request for military burial honors as the final gesture of our country’s gratitude and respect that we have for their service.
